KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Denny Thum, a 35-year veteran of Kansas City's front office, has been appointed president of the Chiefs.

Thum will share power with Scott Pioli, whose title of general manager puts him in charge of football operations. Thum will oversee all other aspects of the Chiefs. He and Pioli each will report to owner and board chairman Clark Hunt.
Thum served most recently as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He went to work for the Chiefs in May 1974.
